The humble açaí berry has been a staple of a Brazilian diet for centuries. Now it's gaining popularity as one of the world's most praised superfoods - oh and it's completely delicious! Whether you want to use it as a frozen pulp or powder, here's how to transform this superfruit from the Amazon rainforest into an indulgent breakfast, perfect for enjoying in the sunshine. 

Don’t be fooled - this isn’t just a smoothie you eat with a spoon. Blend your açaí with other fruits to bulk up your bowl and add peanut butter for an extra protein hit - now you’ve got a dish that won’t leave you hungry! The tip is to use frozen fruit and keep liquids to a minimum for an indulgently smooth, thick texture, think a delicious breakfast sorbet. And the best thing? Customise however you like and see how many delicious creations you can come up with!

100g sachet of frozen pure açaí puree OR 1 tablespoon of açaí powder 
1 frozen banana
Handful of frozen berries 
100ml plant-based milk (we love coconut for a tropical flavour) 
1 -2 tablespoons of honey for sweetness


Salted Date Peanut Butter
Fresh fruit
Desiccated coconut
Anything else you can think of! 


  • Add all the ingredients to a high powered blender starting on a low speed & gradually increasing so that the fruit remains frozen. You might have to pause a couple of times and use a spatula to scrape the ingredients down the side of the blender and back into the blades - we promise it’s worth it!
  • Once the mixture reaches a smooth and thick consistency, pour it into your favourite bowl to serve 
  • Load up with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
