FROZEN BANANA LOLLIES

Get double dipping with these creamy, so easy-to-make, even easier-to-eat lollies. Move over banana bread, this is the new way to use up your stash!

A deliciously creamy and slightly healthier treat than traditional ice cream, double dip these frozen banana lollies in chocolate and almond butter for an indulgent snack this summer.

Time: 5 mins to prepare, at least 5 hours freezing (or ovenight)

Makes: 4 lollies, but you can easily adjust to make as many or few as you like - why not make a big batch and keep them on hand in the freezer for when you need a treat?

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 medium bananas, ripe and peeled
  • 75g dark chocolate
  • 2 tsp coconut oil
  • Salted Date Almond Butter

METHOD:

In just 5 simple steps, you’ll have the perfect homemade ice lolly!

1. Freeze

Peel and halve your bananas, insert a lolly stick into each half and place in the freezer for 3 hours, or overnight.

2. Make chocolate sauce

Place a heatproof bowl over a small pan of boiling water, add the chocolate to melt slowly, then add the coconut oil to give it a slightly runnier texture.

3. Dip
Dip the frozen bananas directly into the bowl with the chocolate mixture to cover them in chocolatey goodness.

4. Freeze
Return the chocolate covered bananas for at least 2 hours.

5. Decorate (or double dip!)
Drizzle Salted Date Almond Butter over your frozen banana lolly. It’s your choice whether you create a dainty pattern or just dunk the whole thing again. Whatever you choose, the result will be a delicious and healthy frozen treat!

If you’re making a big batch to keep in the freezer, once the chocolate is fully frozen, wrap the remaining lollies in freezer bags or clingfilm to protect them.

    Enjoy!
