Chocolate date bark

Chewy, sweet, salty, nutty & addictive! Date Bark is our favourite (healthier) cure for a sweet tooth.

First of all, did you know that DATES:

  • contain natural sugar w/ low-med glycemic index
  • contain a good amount of fibre which helps to slow the release of carbohydrates
  • give you sustained energy rather than spiking your blood sugar crazy high
  • are naturally low in fat
  • are packed with nutrients like potassium (50% more potassium by weight than a banana), copper, magnesium, vitamin B6, niacin, calcium, iron + vitamin K.

Like why are we not eating more dates daily 🤩

  • 15-18 pitted medjool dates (the sticky ones!)
  • 4 tbsp crunchy peanut butter
  • 3 tbsp chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  1. Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper. Split dates open and tops the pit. Press down each one onto the sheet, skin side up to avoid sticking to fingers, make sure they overlap.
  2. Spread the crunchy peanut butter on top using a spoon to make it even
  3. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and keep in freezer while you prep the melted chocolate
  4. Melt the coconut oil and mix in the chocolate protein powder until smooth
  5. Drizzle over the peanut butter evenly and pop the baking sheet into the freezer for 30 minutes. Remove from the freezer, chop the bark into 10-12 even pieces and enjoy!
